Mom and Dad

There are no castles in the clouds
Or castles made of sand.
No knights slaying dragons
In a far-off faery land.
But your lives tell a story
Far better than any book.
And we can read it clearly
Every time we look.
Your lives have been twisted -
Twined together like a vine.
And it is the strength of two
That carries you through time.

The love that has held you two
So strong, so warm, so real
Has draped itself over us
And wrapped us in its feel.
Your lives tell a story
And as the pages turn
We have read each word and line.
By watching you, we learn.
And though it isn't written yet
The final page will show
Your love is never ending.
But this you already know.
